M/V Magellan Explorer

About the Magellan Explorer

The M/V Magellan Explorer is a modern expedition vessel, custom-built for Antarctic air-cruises. She was built in Chile to the latest Polar Code specifications and carries a Polar Class 6 ice-class. She started service in the 2019 Antarctic season and the ship accommodates 73 passengers in seven categories of accommodation, including dedicated single cabins.

The ship features a glass-enclosed observation lounge and presentation room with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, used for daily presentations and briefings. There is also a spacious and stylish dining room, well-stocked bar, a library, gym, sauna and protected outdoor barbecue area. The forward-facing observation deck leads to the bow of the ship and offers a fantastic viewpoint, from which to observe the passing marine wildlife.
Cabins are all spacious and comfortable and the seven categories of accommodation range from Porthole cabins through to Grand Suites. All twin cabins, with the exception of two, can be configured as a King-size double. Dedicated single cabins and triples are also available on board. All cabins have a wardrobe, individually controlled heating system, a sitting area and a private bathroom with shower and many also have a balcony on board.

Explore the voyages on board the Magellan Explorer below and enquire with our expert Polar team to find out more about the ship, the trips and the prices for different cabin categories.
