What’s the best time to visit Thailand?
Thailand is typically warm all year-round, hovering around 80-90°F, with high levels of humidity. November to April tend to be the more comfortable months, with temperatures dropping, though this is also a more popular time for tourists. Be aware, if you travel during the monsoon season, you can expect frequent heavy rain and high levels of humidity.
When is monsoon season in Thailand?
Thailand has two monsoon seasons – one between May and October and one between November and February depending on where you’re visiting (see below for more details). Be prepared for short yet heavy tropical downpours, though these showers usually clear quickly and refresh the air, making it feel a little less humid in the evening.
Northern, Central and South West Coast
If you're planning a tour through northern Thailand or along the Andaman coast on the west of Thailand’s southern peninsula, the winter months of November through February typically offer the best conditions, which is perfect for trips to the pristine white-sand beaches of Krabi and Koh Lanta.

Time your trip to Thailand with the Thai New Year on April 13 to experience the Songkran Festival. Expect very hot temperatures, but don’t worry - you’ll quickly cool off as the streets erupt into playful water fights.
